10–12 June 2026 | University of Toulouse, France
The Advanced Biological Fluid Purification Technologies Workshop will be held as part of the 3rd Training Event of the European Doctoral Network BioGentle (Horizon Europe – MSCA Actions) and will also mark the closing event of the Franco–Taiwanese MOST/ANR project Plasmotic.
This three-day workshop, taking place from 10 to 12 June 2026 at the University of Toulouse, will bring together leading academic and industrial researchers specialized in biological fluid purification processes applied to the pharmaceutical and biomedical fields.
Scientific Scope and Objectives
The workshop will focus on the latest technological developments in biological fluid purification, including downstream processing after cell cultures and the treatment of blood-derived fluids. It aims to provide a comprehensive overview of recent advances in membrane-based separation technologies, bioseparations, and innovative purification strategies.
Beyond scientific presentations, the event will serve as a major platform for exchange and networking between students, academic researchers, and industry professionals, fostering interdisciplinary discussions and future collaborations.
International Speakers and Industrial Participation
Lectures will be delivered by international academic and industrial experts. Two outstanding keynote speakers, widely recognized as leading international experts in the field, have confirmed their participation:
- Prof. Andrew Zydney (Penn State University, USA)
- Prof. João Crespo (NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal)
The workshop will also benefit from the active participation of industrial partners, including Sartorius, Repligen, and Polymem, offering valuable insights into industrial perspectives and real-world applications.
Training and Networking Opportunities
In addition to oral presentations, the program includes:
- Student flash presentations and poster sessions
- Informal discussion sessions (science dating, networking events)
- Dedicated meetings for BioGentle and Plasmotic projects
These activities are specifically designed to enhance scientific interactions and maximize the impact for PhD and Master’s students, as well as early-career researchers.
Participation
The workshop will be open upon registration to the entire Toulouse academic and industrial community, with the goal of promoting interdisciplinary exchanges in biological fluid purification, bioseparations, and biomedical engineering.
